MRT House

Framing the Montgó

MRT House is located in an agricultural area near the town of Jávea, Alicante.

The plot is large, offering stunning views of the Montgó Natural Park, which serves as the starting point for the project.

The house seeks formal simplicity through a clean volumetric composition.

The ground floor, with its strong sculptural character, frames views of the striking rocky massif, making the landscape an essential part of the architecture while acting as a solid base that connects the house to the land.

As contrasting elements, two wooden volumes house the core communication areas, creating more intimate and cozy spaces.

Integration with the environment is key to the design. The volumes are arranged in a way that respects and enhances the surrounding landscape.

The large window openings allow the impressive views of the surroundings to become an integral part of the interior experience.
The house aims to emerge from the landscape, engaging in a respectful dialogue with its environment and achieving a balance between architecture and nature.

The palette of materials used in the project has a strong natural component, in line with the idiosyncrasy of the project. Natural stone flooring, colored single-layer coating, dry masonry stone and natural wood are combined inside and outside the home, giving it warmth and communicating with the environment.
