MSN House is located in a residential area of Jávea, Alicante.
The starting point for this house is an elongated, steeply sloping plot descending towards the south, together with distant views of the sea and Jávea’s Arenal beach.
The volumetry of the project is a direct consequence of the site. Factors such as its elongated proportions, the maximum permitted height and the required setbacks from the boundaries, which might initially appear to be disadvantages, ultimately define the volumes and give the project its character.
Access to the house is through a double-height space at the centre of the plan. The staircase is located here, gaining strong visual prominence from throughout the rest of the house.
The living area extends like a long balcony, creating a platform perfectly adapted to the topography of the plot. All the rooms open towards and are oriented to the views and the garden located on a lower level.
The vertical elements positioned at the ends and centre of the house are formed by dry-stone masonry walls, giving the exterior a sense of robustness and solidity.
Inside, natural colours are used alongside materials such as timber, concrete and natural stone.
